Today, more Latino children are taken to emergency rooms with asthma attacks, compared to previous years.
These emergency treatments frighten parents and children. Sometimes these asthma attacks occur because the
instructions for the treatment are in English and are very difficult to understand. Other times there are asthma triggers at home,
school or work that may affect their asthma; identifying and correcting these triggers can reduce the occurrence of these episodes.
Working with a team of experts who speak the language you understand helps make it
possible to reduce the frequency and severity of these asthma attacks.
The RESPIRA program is free for all latino families. If you have no health insurance,
you can still sign up for RESPIRA.
